How to take care of your chinaware crockery

Chinaware Plates

Never stack more than 6 plates on top of each other. Place a paper towel between each plate to avoid abrasion.

Never use fine and bone chinaware for cooking. It is not designed to withstand high temperatures, and direct exposure to flame might cause it to crack.

Chinaware Cups

Never stack more than 3 cups on top of each other. Place individually in cupboard or hang on hooks to avoid weakening of the rim and handles.

Never stack cups or use hooks that are not coated. Safest way to store cups is with the rim facing downwards.

Washing

Always use a mild soap. Soaps with high alkaline content may induce chemical reactions, thus reducing the life of the chinaware.

Scrub, but do not scrape. Avoid using strong abrasive material to ensure your chinaware lasts longer.

For tough stain removal, never take the shortcut. Soak the utensil in mild bleach for sometime then afterwards, wash off the bleach with mild soap in warm water.

Avoid washing in dishwasher as much as possible. Although it is a great time saver, the heat it emits during the drying cycle can cause damage to the chinaware.

Storage and Maintenance

Check if your chinaware crockery is microwave-friendly. Typically, most chinaware is not designed for the microwave, especially the one that has a gold or metallic rim. Refer to the print on the back or bottom of the pieces to be sure.

Take special care for prolonged storage. Using specialized cases to store your chinaware crockery over extended periods can help maximize its life.
